Come to Tyler State Park and start cookin

The Picture above is all you need to start Dutch Oven cooking. We will be there Thursday afternoon join us and we or someone in the group will help you if you are new at Dutch Over cooking. We will have the ovens on the tables Saturday at 12:30 ready to eat come cook with us or come to eat. If you are new we can help you get started let's start with a Peach Dump Cake. All you will need is in the picture above, and 2 cans of peaches (29/30 oz) 1 cake mix (white / yellow) can cinnamon, 1/3 stick butter / margaine. That's it come on.

South Central Busnut Rally

On Thursday we cooked swiss stake, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn,texas toast.pineapple upside down cake, peach,cherry.cobbler, for all 60 people. Know one went away hungry. We had a hamburger cookout by the river on Friday, check out the pictures in the album on the right.Going hungry is not one of the thing we do at these rallys so Friday evening we had leftovers from Thursdays swiss stake and Fridays hamburger cookout. Saturday it was all catered so we all ate again. We all had a great time. Saturday we went to Lometa and petted the snakes.

Dogwood March 2008 (DOG)

This is the cooks and helpers that made this a great (DOG) we had 79 black pots on the tables at 2:00. There was 150/175 people lined up ready to eat and we did not run out of food. The live web cam worked we had about 500 hits on the web page the counter at the bottom of page as 1140 when we got there wednesday when we left sunday it was over 1600. This is a picture from the February Dutch Oven Geathering (DOG). Joe Roach, Park Ranger at Tyler State Park is showing all of the visitors at the park how to cook in a Dutch Oven useing charcoal as a heat source. Joe was bakeing a Peach Cobbler after it was cooked they all had a sample of it. We had 51 Dutch Ovens on the dinner tables at 12:30 and everyone in the park that showed up ate with us. We cook the first Saturday of every month and pots are on the tables at 12:30 come eat with us. The pictures from the February (DOG) are in the album on the right side of the web page.

Christmas at the Patterson's


I have been LAZY and have not added anything to the Blog so thought I would add Christmas pictures of the family. We have 30 in the Texas Patterson's family and add to the number every year, with the Grandkids getting married. I have added pictures in the album on the right side of page. We are to Dutch Oven Cook next week will try to take some pictures and add them to the Blog. I added some new pictures into Dutch Oven #1 album, cooked a Turkey for December DOG (D)utch (O)ven (G)athering. Used a new Turkey Roaster it works great cooked a 14# turkey in 2 Hr.
